Employees across campus participate in UFCC every year to raise money for numerous agencies serving the region including the United Way of North Central Florida, Community Health Charities of Florida and other independent agencies.
For the third year in a row, faculty and staff in the College of Health & Human Performance (HHP) met its goal achieving a 35% pledge rate and by collectively raising more than $15,000.

On Oct. 5, community members from the College of Journalism and Communications (CJC) and HHP joined forces to compete in the seventh annual paper airplane challenge in Weimer Hall Atrium.
Prizes provided by the community were awarded for the longest distance thrown and most creative paper airplane with judging provided by "Head Ball Coach" and HHP Alum Steve Spurrier and Former Gators Middle Linebacker and CJC alum James Bates. For a second year in a row, CJC took home the trophy for most participation. Each paper airplane entry was $5 with all money benefitting UFCC. More than $650 was raised during this year's challenge.
For more than 15 years, UF employees have donated nearly $1 million annually to agencies serving the region. This year, 99 agencies, all approved and vetted by the UFCC Planning Committee, participated. These nonprofits focus on health, social services, diversity, relief, development and environmental issues of local importance.
