Ron Pinnell (BSPE ’73, MHE ’79)

During his 42-year career in education, Dr. Ron Pinnell served as a teacher, an athletic coach and a school administrator. He had the unique opportunity to serve as an administrator at every level of education (elementary through university). He also held several district cabinet-level leadership positions for the Seminole County Public Schools.

Ron is a graduate of HHP with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a master’s degree in Health Education. As an undergraduate, he earned a varsity letter as a member of the UF Wrestling Team and was inducted into the academic honoraries of Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Tau Sigma. He was also honored to have received the D.K. Stanley Memorial Scholarship for Undergraduate Excellence and the Lt. Edward Noble Memorial Leadership Scholarship. Ron went on to earn a specialist degree and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.

Ron served on many local, state and national education committees, contributed to the professional literature on a variety of topics and presented on issues related to the legal aspects of school operation and leadership development. In 2016, Ron was inducted into the HHP Alumni Hall of Fame
