ESG’s Scooter-Helmet Awareness Campaign to host panel discussion | 10/08
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Eta Sigma Gamma’s Scooter-Helmet Awareness Campaign ends today with a UF Student-Athlete educational seminar at 7 p.m. in the Florida Gym.
The evening seminar will include a personal testimony from HHP student Ashley Groves, who was critically injured in a scooter accident. Dr. Lawrence Lottenberg from the Shands Trauma Unit will speak about his experiences with UF students who have been in accidents without wearing helmets. In addition, members of the Shands Trauma Unit will participate in a question and answer session.
"It is important for members of The Gator Nation to take responsibility for their safety,” said Wendy Alderman, Eta Sigma Gamma president and organizer of the event.
The event is free and opened to the public. Free pizza will be provided.
