GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The staff of the College of Health & Human Performance was honored at a special Staff Appreciation Luncheon held Friday, Sept. 24, 2004.
“We want our staff to know that the faculty greatly appreciate all their hard work,” Interim Dean Jill Varnes said. “We can’t do our job without them.”
About 150 faculty and staff members attended the luncheon, which was catered by Sonny’s Real Pit B-B-Q. Attention was focused on the staff’s recent hard work concerning the computer system transition to PeopleSoft.
“Our support staff has worked so hard and has done a great job handling all of the challenges related to the PeopleSoft conversion,” Varnes said.
A number of faculty members, including Dean Varnes, Dr. William Chen, Dr. Stephen Holland, and Dr. Steve Dodd spoke of the continuing dedication of the staff during the conversion.
The luncheon was a nice break from work, it took us away from PeopleSoft for awhile,” said Susie Weldon, office assistant for Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. “The faulty who spoke seemed very appreciative and genuine.”
The PeopleSoft conversion, which was implemented this summer, includes an entirely new software system, which alters the business operations of the college.
