Four College of Health and Human Performance students will be attending the Student Leadership Conference sponsored by the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance from October 14-17.
Lucas Bennett, Ashley Lange, Josh Rhodes and Angela Showden will be learning skills to become better leaders. The AAHPERD Student Leadership Conference will be held in east central Alabama at Alabama’s Special Camp for Children and Adults, also known as Camp ASCCA.
Interim Dean Jill Varnes will present a lecture entitled “The Zookeeper: Herding Cats and Other Independent Animals,” which will teach students leadership skills.
The students will participate in ropes course challenges, leadership games and motivational speakers, all geared to make them better leaders.
They also will have access to a challenge course, ropes course, gymnasium, swimming pool, lakefront area, lighted softball field, fishing pond and lighted tennis courts.
