Relay for Life

ESG-Relay For Life fundraiser at Moe's Southwest Grill on February 29
Join ESG members on Wednesday, February 29, for a fundraiser supporting the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.  The fundraiser will take place at Moe's Southwest Grill on Newberry Road, approximately .3 miles west of I-75.  During the hours of 4pm and 10pm, Moe's Southwest Grill will donate a percentage of dinner sales to ESG’s Relay For Life team. The more people ESG packs into Moe’s, the more money raised for cancer research!  All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society event that raises money for cancer research, as well as important programs to help individuals battling cancer.

Please show your support for ESG and the American Cancer Society (and eat delicious Mexican cuisine!) on Wednesday, February 29 between 4pm and 10pm!
Make sure to say you're "with ESG" when checking out at the register!

Check back to see what our theme will be!

What is Eta Sigma Gamma (ESG)?

History
ESG is the national professional health education honorary founded on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, on August 14, 1967. The Alpha Lambda Chapter at the University of Florida was founded in 1978 under the leadership of Dr. Barbara Rienzo.  Our local chapter enhances the professional development of students while upholding the ideals of teaching, service, and research both individually and collectively..

Being a Member
New members are required to contribute $30 annually to defray local chapter expenses. The membership also includes a t-shirt designed for our local chapter. Returning members are only required to contribute a $20 fee, unless a new shirt is needed. Membership forms are available in FLG-6.

Benefits of Membership
ESG provides a leadership opportunity for students in the department of Health Education and Behavior.  Being a member of ESG, allows students to gain experience as a health educator at an affordable cost. Initiated members will be granted a certificate of membership and a subscription to the Health Educator Monograph, the scholarly journal published annually.

In addition to these benefits, ESG is a great way to give back to the community, build your resume in a comprehensive and fun way, and develop connections and networking skills that can help you in your future career as a health educator! Click here to learn more about UF’s Alpha Lambda chapter!
