PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Health Education is a multidisciplinary field with strong ties to the basic life sciences, medicine and application to clinical, normal and athletic populations.
The 36 hour thesis and project in lieu of thesis Master of Science degree program in Health Education & Behavior is designed for students pursuing a career in research and/or a doctoral degree.

NOTE: 1000-4000 level courses within the department and 1000-2000 level courses outside the department are not eligible to count toward the graduate degree requirements.
THESIS/PROJECT REQUIREMENT
Prior to graduating, each student must successfully complete his/her thesis/project and present the work in written form meeting the guidelines approved by the University of Florida Graduate School. The student also must orally present and defend their work before their thesis/project committee in an open forum.
PREREQUISITE COURSEWORK
The department typically expects incoming M.S. students to have completed coursework in health content (such as a personal and family health course), methods of instruction (such as a methods and materials course), and human biology (such as anatomy and physiology or medical terminology). The department prescribes pre-requisite coursework based on the applicant's academic preparation, professional experience, and professional goals. The letter of acceptance specifies requirements for pre-requisite coursework, if any. Students may take pre-requisite coursework concurrently at any time during their M.S. program.
