NIH PROJECT ON DRUG ABUSE FUNDED
Dr. Chad Werch, Director of the AHBRI, receives $1.23M for the 2-year project:"Multiple Behavior SBIRT Model of Drug Abuse among Emerging Adults in Primary Care."

US DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AWARDS
Dr. Virginia Dodd, Associate Professor, receive a 2009 Award as a Model of Alcohol or Other Drug Abuse Prevention Programs on College Campuses. This prestigious honor carries both funding and recognition for rigorous work in prevention of alcohol and other drugs on college campuses.

Dr. Beth Chaney, Assistant Professor in HEB beginning Fall 2009, is a recipient of a US Department of Education research award: “Community Outreach Prevention (COP): Collaboration between two-year and four-year institutions to address high-risk drinking among college students.” Dr. Chaney is the evaluator on this project.

HEB RECEIVES PROVOST E-LEARNING INITIATIVE AWARD
Dr. Don Chaney, Assistant Professor HEB and Assistant Dean HHP beginning Fall 2009, will lead the HEB project to develop an on-line course “Personal and Family Health.”
