Bayreuth, Germany
Semester: Summer A 2012
Credits: 3
This program offers instruction on sport marketing topics provided through lectures by the European Association form Sport Management (EASM) partner university faculty and will take place at the sports institute of the University of Bayreuth and includes an in-country excursion. Open to sophomore/junior/senior sport management majors.

Dublin and London
Semester: Spring 2012
Credits: 6
Students will explore the rich and diverse history of European sport, with specific knowledge of the European Model of Club Sports, gain an understanding of sport in a global community and the importance and value of sport, as well as witness site preparations for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. During travel (May 12-25, 2012), students will gain access to sport venues (e.g. Croke Park, Wimbledon, Twickenham Stadium) and museums (e.g. Gaelic Sports Museum, World Rugby Museum) under the guidance of HHP Faculty.

Fiji
Semester: Summer A 2012
Credits: 3
Program will examine human and cultural aspects of Fijian ecology and the conservation, preservation, and management of Fiji’s unique system of marine, coastal, and mountain/rainforest natural resources. Students will explore the management and conservation of natural resources with a focus on issues related to human use of plant, forestry, wildlife, ecology, recreation and tourism, and/or coastal/water resources. The impact of humans on these resources will also be emphasized, including a long term historical perspective.

Germany
Semester: Spring 2012
Credits: 3
The program focus is to provide for an academic, research, and social exchange between German and American students and faculty. Participants travel to Germany during the Spring for a period of two weeks (March 3-18, 2012). During that time, students and faculty present on various topics of their research, attend classes, and visit places of interest in Germany. Past trip highlights have included a visit to the International Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, mountain biking in the French Alps and being participants in a German Sports Festival.

Greece
Semester: Spring 2013
Credits: 3
Students will explore the rich history underlying the Olympic Games, organized sport, and their impact on individuals and on communities. During travel (April 30-May 9, 2011), students will gain unparalleled access to sport, tourism, and health organizations, agencies, and museums under the guidance of Dr. Kiki Kaplanidou, Dr. Paula Welch, and Dr. Barbara Rienzo.

London
Semester: Summer A 2013

“Athletic Medicine: Discoveries Influencing Clinical Practice” will cultivate critical thinking and promote a better understanding of how doctors and their discoveries impact modern clinical sports medicine. During travel (June 2- 14, 2011) students will visit medical and science museums and university research labs dedicated to evolution of Sports Medicine under the guidance of Athletic Training faculty. This course is open to all students, but is especially appropriate for Athletic Training, Pre-Medicine, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Science students who are in good academic standing (junior or higher). Students must have completed APK 2100c (or equivalent) and must submit an academic letter of recommendation for instructor approval.

New Zealand
Semester: Summer A 2012
Credits: 6
Program focus is on the sustainable development of the country’s unique land and cultural resources. Through an interdisciplinary and experiential approach, students will have the opportunity to explore the dynamic cultures and natural environments of the region by traveling extensively as a group with UF faculty and local field experts. In addition, students will participate in cultural excursions and activities, including participating in ancient cultural ceremonies, and service learning projects.

North Queensland
Semester: Summer A 2012
Credits: 6
Program focus is on topics related to sustainable development (sustaining human societies and the natural environment) through educational travel, field trips, active participation, lecture presentations and seminars, and coursework exercises. The goal of this course is using the Queensland, Australia case to integrate the different perspectives of diverse natural, biological, and social science disciplines to improve understanding of relationships between human societies and the natural environment. The impact of humans on natural resources and their sustainable use and conservation will be emphasized.

Sydney
Semester: Summer A 2013
Credits: 3
This program focuses on urban sustainability in/around Sydney, Australia. Topics include urban planning and development (including energy conservation and climate, housing, and transportation), conservation of natural resources for human use (tourism, recreation, and agriculture), and indigenous/social change. These issues are examined through educational travel (field trips and activities), a service learning project, classroom presentations and seminars, and field modules. As home to nearly a quarter of Australia's population, and students will explore the cultural diversity of this metropolis, the management and conservation of protected areas for nature-based recreation and tourism, and the impact of humans on an urban environment (including topics such as energy conservation, carbon emissions and climate change, and water conservation).
