Biography:

Kathy Sohar holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and earned her Master's and Doctoral Degrees in Mass Communications from UF in 2005. Her graduate studies focused on the sociological impacts of technology with an emphasis on uses and gratifications and learning theory. Sohar is also currently working on a certificate in Educational Technology at UF's College of Education. Prior to coming to the University of Florida, Sohar served as the Manager of International Telecommunications for Global Access Telecommunications and worked at PanAmSat, the world's first private global satellite communications company. In her current capacity as Educational Consultant, Sohar works with 21st CCLC programs around the state to help support their efforts to serve Title 1 students and families in an after school environment.
