Biography:

Sandra Ricardo is the Coordinator of Compliance for the University of Florida’s 21st CCLC Leadership Team. In this position, Ricardo is charged with conducting on-site and desktop monitoring of all 21st CCLC sub-grantees, providing technical assistance on the numerous statutes, regulations and policies governing Federal programs and assisting with researching and developing policy. Ricardo has 28 years of experience in education spanning the classroom, district, state, and university levels with a major focus on the education of special populations (Limited English Proficient students and ESE students). After teaching speech and language impaired children and English language learners for 15 years, Ricardo moved to administration at the state (Florida Department of Education) and local levels. In addition, she taught pre-service teachers as an adjunct professor at Florida State University, Flagler College (TCC branch), and the University of Florida, where she also coordinated Federal programs for preservice teachers and for English language learners.
