Biography:

Keith Naugle is currently a lecturer for the Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology and is the athletic training undergraduate clinical coordinator for the University of Florida. Keith is also completing a Ph.D. at UF and will graduate in December 2008. Previously, Naugle was the head athletic trainer at Hidden Valley High School and Hidden Valley Middle School as well as a health and physical education teacher in Roanoke County Schools in Roanoke, Va. Prior to teaching in Roanoke, Naugle served as a graduate assistant with the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services at the University of Illinois working as athletic trainer and strength and conditioning associate with the university’s wheel chair track and field and basketball teams.

Naugle is both a certified and licensed athletic trainer with the National Athletic Training Association and a certified personal trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has worked with a variety of clients ranging from youth and elderly to high school sports teams and Olympic athletes.

The Southeast Athletic Training Association has funded Naugle to research burnout and perceived wellness in the profession of athletic training. Naugle has presented at both regional and national conferences in the areas of ankle instability. He also has published several articles on disabled sports and treatment of specific injuries and conditions.

  • • The sports medicine professional evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of the injuries associated with disabled athletes
