Biography:

Andy Judge, Ph.D. is an assistant research professor in the Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida.  He received his Ph.D. degree in Exercise Physiology from UF in 2003 and then received two years of post-doctoral training at Boston University.  During this time Judge was a National Space and Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI) Fellow.

Judge’s research is focused on the molecular signaling pathways leading to skeletal muscle atrophy caused by disuse, disease and aging. 

Research Interests: 

  • • Molecular triggers of skeletal muscle atrophy.
  • • The role of heat shock proteins in the regulation of skeletal muscle mass.
  • • Skeletal muscle damage and dysfunction associated with Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) and exercise claudication.
