Biography:

Seigfred W. Fagerberg, Ph.D., began his education career in the public school system in Tennessee and Mississippi. After three years, Fagerberg decided to continue his education, pursuing graduate degrees in education. Fagerberg did not give up his love for teaching during this time. He served as an assistant principal for public schools while working on his master’s degree. He was also an assistant dean of student affairs at the University of Southern Mississippi while earning his doctorate degree.

Now Fagerberg has dedicated more than 35 years to educating students in the College of Health and Human Performance. During these years, he has taught more than 40,000 students at the University of Florida and thousands more at other universities through his distance education courses. Fagerberg served as the first chairman of the Department of Health Education and Behavior and has received several Teacher of the Year awards.

He has served on virtually every academic and advisory committee at the University of Florida. In addition to his commitment to UF, Fagerberg has been a leader for health professionals, serving as vice president for numerous divisions of the Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. During his career, Fagerberg has published 15 books and has had articles printed by more than 450 entities worldwide. He is currently providing interactive online audio-visual E-textbooks for other colleges and universities throughout the world.
