Biography:

Michele Dye was named director of communications for the College of Health and Human Performance in August 2004. Dye oversees internal and external communications for HHP as well as publications, video production, alumni relations and special events. Her office also provides UF students with internships in the areas of public relations, graphic design and event management.

Her former interns have gone onto successful careers in public relations for Fortune 500 companies, while others are working in the National Football League and top sports marketing companies.

In 2005, Dye founded the HHP Ambassadors, an elite group of students who represent HHP at alumni and university functions. More recently she began teaching SLS 1102, which is part of the new student program run by the UF Dean of Students Office. Dye will be teaching HHP’s inaugural section of First Year Florida in fall 2008. She is the chairwoman of the HHP Commencement Committee and serves on a number of UF committees, including Healthy Gators 2010 and UF Branding/Marketing Committee.

Dye, who graduated from UF’s College of Journalism and Communications, spent four years with the University Athletic Association in the media relations office, working extensively with men’s basketball, football, women’s swimming and diving, and women’s golf. Dye received national recognition from the College Sports Information Directors of America for her work on publications.

Dye is a member of the UF Alumni Association.
