Biography:

John Dobson, Ph.D., first served as a visiting assistant professor in the College of Health and Human Performance from 2001-2003 in the Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. After working as an assistant professor for two years at the College of Charleston, Dobson returned to APK in 2005.

Since returning, Dobson’s primary emphasis as a faculty member has been on teaching. Although he always is passionate about lecturing and his interactions with students, his favorite courses to teach are those that pertain to physiology. Dobson enjoys sharing the awe that he feels concerning the staggering capability of the body to respond to complex internal and external challenges, such as those created by exercise and exposure to extreme environments.
