HHP STUDENT NAMED SPORTS ILLUSTRATED CHEERLEADER OF THE WEEK | 7/3

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida football and basketball cheerleader Britany Raymond was named Sports Illustrated Cheerleader of the Week on June 26.

The article features Raymond’s answers to interview questions revealing facts like she can’t live without the movie “Finding Nemo” and that if she won the lottery the first thing she would buy would be a miniature pony.

Raymond is a senior majoring in exercise physiology in the College of Health and Human Performance.  Although being a cheerleader demands a lot of her time, Raymond still maintains a 4.0 GPA and volunteers in the Performance Psychology Lab at HHP, which she enjoys because it has given her a greater appreciation for the work that her professors do outside of the classroom.

Raymond is currently applying to medical school and studying for the MCAT. She has become an expert at managing her time, which is always packed with her many activities.

“I learned a great deal about time management,” Raymond said. “I studied whenever I could, whether it be while stretching before practice or on a long bus ride to Alabama.  I’ve always been very serious about my academics, so my nightlife for college was spent in the libraries.”
